The Pokemon franchise recently saw its latest video game iteration in the form of Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Released on January 28, 2022, the game is seeing tremendous success out of the gate with fans loving the innovative take on the classic Pokemon formula. Previous entries in the franchise have mostly been composed of turn-based RPGs, Arceus scraps all that to make room for a unique title.
Developer Game Freak has reinvented the wheel, as Arceus involves new mechanics from the ground up. Providing a fresh feel to each new encounter, and a game world that feels different. Given these points, it’s no wonder Arceus is seeing success amongst its fanbase. But with a recent tweet from Nintendo themselves, players get a definite look into how well the latest Pokemon title has been performing worldwide.

In the tweet Nintendo expressed its gratitude to players, referring to them as “6.5 million explorers worldwide”.
Notably, Arceus achieved this massive number in a mere week since its release. To put it into perspective, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl had the highest opening for a remake throughout the franchise, with Famitsu reporting it raked in over 6 million sales within the first weekend.
Ever since its launch back in November 2021, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have sold a total of 13.97 million units, leaving it just shy of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire’s 14.46 million units sold, according to Dot Esports. The latter is considered the best performing Pokemon remake of all time, and with BDSP’s January sales still unknown, it could have already overtaken ORAS.

But some fans have issues they want to see addressed.
Love the game, can't put it down
But the lack of voice acting is just pure laziness, I don't care that that's how main series games have been, the fact that they made a switch game and decided to stick with no voice acting shows the games still has a long way to go— JD (@ThiccConstant) February 4, 2022
