Square Enix held its showcase for the Tokyo Game Show on Friday and officially revealed a new RPG game called Dungeon Encounters. It is said to be directed by veteran Final Fantasy director Hiroyuki Ito, who has also created the famous Active Time Battle system. The game is all set to be released this October and will release for Nintendo Switch as well. Needless to say, Switch users are very happy.

Dungeon Encounters coming to Nintendo Switch
The game involves players navigating through the grid-based labyrinths and getting rewarded for figuring them out. There are menu-based battles against monsters included in the game as well. The trailer of the game appears to be quite difficult to understand, even for those fans who have been following Ito’s work for a long time now.
Along with Ito, Final Fantasy 12 producer Hiroaki Kato is also working on this game. Kato and Ito had worked together on the Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Ogre titles with Square Enix. Nobuo Uematsu will be directing and watching over the soundtrack for the game, and designer Ryomo Ito has produced the artwork and character designs which can be seen below.

The characters appear in 2D static form for now and there are two adorable-looking characters in the game- a cat named Sir Cat, and a dog named Jufren. According to Square Enix, this game will give players almost 100 levels of challenges that will definitely get them working with their analytical abilities.
Besides this, Konami is also gearing up to bring a brand new installment to the Metal Gear franchise. Furthermore, reports by VGC state that the popular gaming studio Virtuous is working on the development of another Metal Gear game. The next installment will mostly be centered around Metal Gear Solid 3.

Dungeon Encounters will launch on October 14 and is available digitally for PS4, Switch, and OC via Steam. The game is priced at $29.99 and $23.99 if pre-ordered.
