The most-wanted equipment currently in the video game industry is the upcoming Nintendo Switch console, which is rumored to be either Switch 2 or Pro. Even though the console doesn’t exist yet, it is a video game device that Nintendo fans need now. After all, the Switch has been on the market for more than six years.
There have been many reports from Nintendo fans that the latest Switch games don’t run smoothly. Many believe the reason could be the developers made the games for a successor of Switch. The latest rumors have suggested that the Japanese behemoths are working on a new console that might compete with the Xbox Series S.
Rumored Nintendo Switch 2 will rival Xbox Series S?

A Pokemon Scarlet & Violet leak revealed that Nintendo would release a second DLC for the two games in 2024. But what was more intriguing about the leak was it claimed this DLC would be for a next-generation of Switch console. There was also a leak from NVIDIA a few months back that hinted at a new Nintendo system.

This rumored Nintendo Switch 2 is further believed to be stronger than the current Switch, which was a masterpiece itself. But this upcoming Nintendo device is also rumored to rival Microsoft Xbox Series S. How will Nintendo accomplish this feat? For answers, we might have to return to the NVIDIA leak, according to which the Switch 2 will use a Tegra T239 chip.

Undoubtedly, this would be a major upgrade over the Tegra X1 chip in the current Switch console. The T239 is believed to be based on the Ampere architecture, the same one that NVIDIA uses for its 3000 series of GPU. If this chip is used in the rumored Nintendo system, it will have features like ray tracing.

Additionally, the successor of Switch will go with an A78C instead of an A57 processor. The new CPU is designed with high-performance, battery-powered devices in mind, such as a handheld console. But these specs also hint at Nintendo increasing the battery limit because these components are extremely power-hungry.

All these specifications point to Nintendo Switch 2 being more efficient or on par with the Xbox Series S. However, it would definitely outperform its competitor’s handheld device, Steam Deck. However, fans should take these rumors with some grain of salt until Nintendo officially reveals the rumored console.
