Fortnite fans might be rejoicing the arrival of Season 3, however, some players are very much worried about the meta of the gameplay for this season. It seems like Epic Games is not placing much heed on the call for balancing the weapons and right now, the players are having a hard time grasping the meta of the weapons.
As you can see in the tweet below, popular leaker Shiina is having a hard time trying to grasp the shotguns this season. They talk about playing with just Striker Pump which feels much more satisfying than the other ones. Overall, they are quite dissatisfied with their experience for this season.
Does anyone else think shotguns feel super weird this season?
I find myself only playing the Striker Pump at the moment and basically ignoring all the others entirely…
The others just don't feel satisfying, in my opinion 🫠

Following this, HYPEX replied that this might be because the meta for Battle Royale is moving towards a more SMG and AR-oriented gameplay. In this, shotguns would be less useful and slowly lose their worthiness in the game.
It just seems like epic is slowly turning their game into something like other BRs where the SMGs & ARs are way better and useful than shotguns

Let’s find out how the fans are reacting to these changes in weapons’ meta in the game
Fortnite fans are enraged with the change of meta for weapons in Season 3
One of the most significant changes that have come about for this season is the change in the weapons’ meta. Fortnite has removed a few sets of weapons which saw some fans being extremely upset. Here is an example of NRG creator Aussie Antics asking for proper balancing of attributes in the game.
Really wish we could look at balancing things rather than just vaulting them every time or add things less broken.
We are about to play basically the exact same season for over 9 months in competitive.
— NRG Aussie Antics (@AussieAntics) June 7, 2022
As you can read in the above tweet already, many players are already claiming that the meta of Fortnite seems stale with a seeming imbalance amongst weapons. What Aussie Antics suggests is to properly balance the games instead of vaulting or adding unnecessarily buffed weapons.
Not even saying heavy snipers or shockwaves should or should not be in the game.
Just saying if we keep adding new things then vaulting them we're in the exact same season. There's so little differences it gets so stale.
So many balanced fun items could be added.

Here is another example of professional Fortnite player Mero asking Epic Games to nerf the AUG

Since fortnite is supposedly listening @FNCompetitive can you guys please nerf the AUG🙏
— DIG Mero (@MeroFN) June 8, 2022
It is critical for any game developer to fix the meta of competitive games when fans complain. Making the meta balanced and enjoyable contributes to the competitive arena’s engagement and passion. Players find it incredibly aggravating when another player has a weapon that has been unjustly buffed while they have an unduly nerfed weapon.
Let’s have a look at what the fans have to say about this.
Big mistake imo
