Never mess with your product if it doesn’t have any issues. This is a key lesson Epic Games has learned after making mistakes in the past. The fanbase of Fortnite does not welcome changes that can break the original mold of the game. The studio has tried that in the past with quick builds, allowing newer players to pick up the game faster.

The core fans of the game love this title because of its complexity, its ridiculously tedious learning curve, and punishing nature. Breaking this formula is a bad idea, and it looks like Epic Games are about to make that mistake again.

New leaks point at the addition of over shield in Fortnite chapter 3

This new leak is pointing at the addition of an over shield gadget that incidentally works in the same fashion as Halo. It is unknown whether the studio is looking to collaborate with Xbox and invite characters from Halo Infinite. However, the over shield will allow players to have more than the usual amount of shield, and it can dismantle the current meta.

It has already had its effect in the community, as fans outraged over the latest leak. Once again, tweaking the original idea of the game might backfire on the developers.

Guns do not offer enough damage to break through the usual 100 shields and adding an over-the-top buff will only make your fights harder. Do we deserve to suffer longer fights?

Avoiding being one tapped by sweaty players might be the only upside, but this change will definitely turn great players into absolute juggernauts.

The hate for buildings and being able to construct things is still present, but hate to break it to the fan; it is not ever going to leave the game.

Maybe this will give newer players a chance to fight back, but they will still have to deal with the light-speed builds.

This is probably the one occasion where fans would hope the leaks are wrong. No one wants to fight for a long time, with rapid builds and various other things taking place.

It is not the brightest idea that the developers may be pondering over, and the best course of action here would be to drop it altogether.

The horror of facing the final circle, and the nightmare of facing a sweaty player, with an over shield, will prolong the fights indefinitely.
