On 1st September 2023, Bethesda released early access for their upcoming action role-playing, Xbox-exclusive game, Starfield. The studio has been working on the game since November 2015 and it’s finally ready for players to try out. Gamers couldn’t wait to get into the game when the early access was released around a week before the official launch.

In anticipation, many players have waited to play the game the second it dropped. One such player has faced a life-changing experience while playing Starfield, which has surfaced from a Reddit user’s story named Tidyckilla.

Starfield saves a gamer and his family

On the day of the release of the game, a Reddit user named Tidyckilla posted a story on Reddit about how binge-playing Starfield saved his family from an apartment fire. The post was titled “Starfield saved me and my family’s life” and had a distant picture of a house caught on fire. The gamer went on to share details about how the game saved his life. He starts the post by saying, “Starfield literally saved mine and my family’s life on September 1st. I have waited for this game since the trademark rumors of 2015-2016”

In the post, he mentioned how he was up at 2:26 a.m. playing Starfield when he heard an explosion from the apartment below. He mentioned how he was quick to react and inspect the sound. Upon realizing that a rapidly spreading fire had broken out, he jumped into action and saved his family.

He went on to say“I immediately got my wife and cat, rushing us to safety with only minor burns. If I hadn’t been up bingeing Starfield, I would have been asleep and we would have all died to smoke inhalation. I want to thank this game for saving my family and me from a horrible fate.”

The gamer’s gratefulness to Starfield is unfathomable

The survivor points out that the smoke alarms didn’t activate until his wife was already exiting the door. He highly credits Starfield for the safety of his family. He goes on to show his appreciation for the game in the post where mentions it saved his life.
