A few days back, Nintendo released its financial results for the fiscal year 2021 – 2022. The franchise recorded its best-ever software sales and ranked well in the hardware section, thanks to the OLED version of the Nintendo Switch, as its October release turned out to be profitable.

Being a Japanese-based brand, the company released the official result in their language, creating confusion. It looked like Shuntaro Furukawa expressed concern about the transition to the Switch 2.

The Japanese giant never wants to be a part of controversies!

Nintendo Switch turned out to be one of the most successful consoles ever made. This next-gen device ranked fourth in the United States in terms of sales. Apart from that, it registered the sixth position in the top ten console list for 2021. But let’s not go into detail, as we have something important to share.

Moreover, the original result translation of Nintendo raised a question as fans thought the president was concerned about a Switch to follow up. But the franchise quickly re-released their results in English on 10th May 2022, giving clarity to everyone.

Here’s what Shuntaro Furukawa actually meant in his statement, ‘We recognize that one of our tasks is ensuring the transition to future generations of hardware is as smooth as possible when asked if the company president has plans on how to shift from the Nintendo Switch to the next generation of hardware.’   

Can we possibly see a Nintendo Switch 2 in the future? 

Furthermore, with the Switch released six years back, you can’t blame the fans for assuming that they were getting a new console. After all, they have been patient for a long time, and it’s the least they can expect from their favorite franchise. Apart from that, Nintendo’s president previously denied the entry of a new Switch, but has now changed his statement to ‘no comments about it.’

Nintendo is constantly trying different ways to keep their fans hooked. With time, they are adding more titles across different consoles giving access to a large game library.
