Some clips that are lately going viral around the web have taken a lot of Fortnite fans by surprise. While visiting the Fatal Fields in the ‘nostalgia season’, players are facing unexpected eliminations. The reason that pops up for the eliminations reads, “You Eliminated Yourself.” Now, if you think any particular move might have triggered the glitch, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
For instance, a Reddit user shared a clip of their gameplay. In the clip, one can see the player just randomly moving across the grass field when suddenly the player faced an elimination. “I’m literally just running right there and it just goes ‘You killed yourself’. Don’t go in there!” The clip includes plenty of other players that allegedly face the same issue.

At the time of writing the piece, there’s no official confirmation on what is the issue with Fatal Field. However, the most plausible deduction one can make through all the reports that have surfaced complaining about the similar elimination may be due to an in-game bug at the specific location.

For a lot of fans, the bug seemed similar to the original Chapter 1 map that reported some parallel eliminations back in the day. Of course, this may not be an intentional tribute to the OG glitch, but some fans would like to believe so. “Lol just like the real chapter 1 map. At certain points in chapter one I remember there being about 5 insta death areas just like this,” a fan reacting to the clip had commented.
