Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is only a few days away, as the devs announced an April 28, 2023 release date. It will drop as a sequel to Fallen Order, which came out in 2019 and struck fans’ hearts. The game had its fair share of problems, making Respawn work harder for the next one.

And it looks like they have faired well, as Survivor has tons of updates compared to its prequel. So, here’s a curated list of things that you should look out for before grabbing your copy and sitting down for countless hours.

Mounts and Movement Abilities

Previously, Cal Kestis had to suffer through a lot while traveling around the planet as there was no mobility. This caused havoc among the community as fans wished for a ride along their journey. Looking at this, Respawn added one of the biggest updates – Rideable mounts in Survivor.

Now, players can use them to travel around the extended planets or even fly around whenever needed. A bonus allows them to attack even with a mount and find/tame these creatures in the wild. However, it is still unclear whether they would be exclusive to their planets or not, but that’s a great start for Respawn.

Similarly, the new game also reveals new movement abilities such as the air dash and an ascension cable that works as a grappling hook. Moreover, players can use lightsabers to slide down surfaces.

Fast Travel

Remember how much time it took to travel between planets – so much that we even had to revisit the spot to complete the challenge? Well, say no more because now you can fast travel.

As of now, it is unclear how it would actually work, but it is safe enough to bid adieu to long travel times. Additionally, the halo map also gets an upgrade, showing obstacles that bar you from completing challenges.

Massive cosmetics library

Who doesn’t love those little details? Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has tons of cosmetics options compared to before. Starting off, you can turn Cal to feature a baby’s face or even a firm beard. Moreover, you can now change all parts of your lightsabers and have more outfit options for Cal.

The hard truth: Storage

Good news for console fans as the game would take up around 50GB, that’s what Xbox says (43.3GB) However, PC gamers would have to go through turmoil as the game requires a minimum of 155 GB. Well, that’s because PC has much more detailed graphics compared to console, giving them the upper hand in experience. So, before you buy your copy, make sure to filter out your library.

Alert: You need to be updated!

Sadly, Respawn has selected the newest versions of the PlayStation and Xbox to run their games. So, if you don’t have a PS5 or Xbox Series X/S, don’t buy this, at least for now. Similarly, PC does have some requirements but you can look out for options to run this game.
