Since the Call of Duty fever is running hot, Kick has cashed in on the hype with an exciting announcement. The platform in a US military tie-up, is organizing a big Call of Duty: Warzone tournament for the eSports community worth 10 grand. But there’s a catch! 

There’s no better time for FPS fanatics. With the ongoing Blast Fall Final 2023, there’s naturally a lot of attention directed towards the Valve-developed CS. Now, thanks to Kick and Regiment, fans will be getting another competitive tournament of FPS in the coming days. If you’re a “Military Veteran or Service Member”, this one is for you.

Guidelines to register for the Kick x Regiment Call of Duty: Warzone tournament

Through their X (formerly Twitter) account, Regiment, America’s Military Gaming Community made the exciting announcement of a merger with Kick for a tournament. As per the source, the Kick backed Call of Duty Warzone tournament will go live on November 25, 2023. It will feature a total number of 60 participants across the country including streamers, influencers, military veterans, or active service members. The grand scale celebration of the CoD fandom has a prize money of a whopping $10,000. 

Now, you’re probably wondering if you’re eligible for the tournament. The guidelines issued by the organizers are simple, the 60 participants ratio would be divided into captains and participants. There will be 20 influencers/streamers or the ‘captains’ will be paired with all 40 selected participants. So, if you’re an influencer/streamer and planning to feature in the tournament, all you need to do is drop a direct message to the Regiment’s official profile. 

Eligibility for 40 participants

  • Every participant must have a Kick handle (only exclusive streaming on Kick allowed) 
  • Every player must have a verified military regiment’s discord
  • The tournament is open for military veterans or active servicemen only 
  • The form requires an Activision ID

US Military and its dependence on eSports

For those unaware, US military forces have always used FPS video games for training purposes. According to researchers, FPS games provide a better understanding of combat experiences, pressure, and problem-solving which happen to be some basic attributes of a soldier. Thus, to aid and assist military professionals in a better understanding of the Battlefield dynamics, US services often turn to eSports.

Besides the training program, a lot of heavy weapon systems also rely on video game controllers for smooth functioning. For instance, the US military used Xbox 360 controllers to operate submarines and flying drones because they provide a better guidance system with more agility.
