Mortal Kombat hardcore fans have always hoped to see Neo and John Wick as playable characters in the game. But unfortunately, it hasn’t happened yet. And now it seems like Reeves, the actor who played these characters, himself is not too pleased with this idea. While answering a fan question, Keanu Reeves revealed his views on John Wick and Neo featuring in Mortal Combat.

“If it was up to me? No”- Reeves on Neo and John Wick joining Mortal Kombat
While addressing this burning question, in an interview with Esquire, Keanu Reeves answered, “If it was up to me? No. Mortal Kombat is awesome in so many ways. But I think, you know, Neo… John Wick… yeah, man, they’re doing their own thing. Mortal Kombat’s doing their own thing.”
Well, clearly he doesn’t want these two characters in Mortal Combat for some reason. It absolutely makes sense, as both the characters differ greatly from what Mortal Kombat is all about, as per the man himself. Despite that, the crossover is plausible and will be loved by the majority of the gaming community if it ever materializes.

Both The Matrix and Mortal Combat are owned by Warner Bros, so there is some chance of a crossover in the future. But unfortunately, the crossover also seems pretty unlikely without Keanu Reeves’ approval, as the crossover will be tough if Reeves refuses to give his voice to the characters.
On the other hand, John Wick is owned by Lionsgate, so it’s even more unlikely to get a crossover if Keanu Reeves is against the idea.
Moreover, earlier this year (2021) EdBoom (NetherRealm boss) shared his desire to see Neo as well as John Wick in Motal Kombat11 as a playable character. But unfortunately, he shared no details on why this didn’t happen and if there is a ray of hope now.
