Kanye West has been the subject of controversies as well as numerous media tussles and debates because of his recent positions on issues like free speech, racism, and more. He has once again become the most contentious social figure as a result of one of his recent positions on anti-Semitism and Nazism.

And amidst all this, a video clip from 2017 of comedian Bill Burr doing a stand-up special regarding Kanye West and his takes on anti-Semitism and Hitler is getting viral. Thus reacting to that Hasan Piker has now said that although Kanye West does have an “ego” he surely isn’t the reason why people should joke about white people being egoistic as well.

What was Bill Burr joking about Kanye West?

The clip that Hasan reacted to was actually from a Netflix special of Bill Burr titled ‘Walk Your Way Out’, in which he said that he was thankful that Kanye West is “Black” and not “White” since it would have been really bad by describing as “entire civilizations wiped out, worldwide famine, the moon colliding with the Earth.”

Notably, he was saying all this on the basis of West being too egoistic and saying random things on matters that are very controversial. Describing how Kanye West is egoistic, Burr said, “Next time Kanye’s going off on himself, I’m telling you [the audience] just close your eyes, forget it’s him, and really listen to what is coming out of this guy’s mouth. He says s**t like ‘I’m a genius. Oh my God, I’m Shakespeare. My biggest regret is I’ll never get to see myself perform live.’ That’s a direct quote.’My biggest regret is I’ll never get to see myself perform live’. Dude, you put that ego in a white dude, that is [doing caricature of Adolf Hitler] it’s being and it’s treason.”

Although Hasan Piker agreed with Bill Burr’s take on Kanye West, he was still not convinced about West having an ‘ego’ similar to ‘white’ men. Therefore, he said, “The part that is correct is that Kanye does have that kind of ego. The part that is incorrect is that white guys do have that kind of ego as well. And not only that but also Kanye West being elevated and platformed by conservatives now that he is coming out as a conservative reactionary conservative is going to be elevated beyond that.”
