To increase their reach or to just appreciate their audience, content creators have time and again organized giveaways. Recently, Kai Cenat also made one such attempt to organize a giveaway. He called his fans to Union Square Park in NYC to giveaway gifts to his fans. However, his noble attempt snowballed into a massive riot.
Hordes of fans arrived at the location to just get a glimpse of their favorite streamer. Even Kai Cenat would not have thought that he will be getting this amount of fan support. This led to a massive riot at the center of Union Square Park. Furthermore, the NYPD charged Cenat with causing the riots.

After the announced giveaway ended in riots, NYPD reportedly arrested Kai Cenat for being the epicenter of the riots. NYPD released a statement saying, “The influencer will be charged with multiple counts, at least two counts of inciting a riot, unlawful assembly, and a few other charges.“

Following this statement, fans came forward to share their concern over Cenat ending up in jail. While some fans hoped the NYPD will drop the charges, a wave of fans started a ‘Free Kai Cenat’ chant on the internet.
In some good news for fans, looks like the NYPD has decided to let Cenat go free for now.

Multiple fans and reporters were present at the time of his release, looking for a comment on the situation from Cenat. The streamer, however, was quickly ushered into his car by his security.

Kai Cenat was not the only person who was arrested for the riots. According to NYPD, a total of 65 people, of which 30 were juveniles, were arrested in relation to the giveaway riots. Furthermore, the unfortunate incident also led to 12 people getting injured.
