But what recent reports are showing is even more fascinating as the game has even surpassed the 2018 prequel in many matters, within just a few days of its release.
God of War Ragnarok is now the second-biggest launch by PlayStation of all times
According to recent stats by Twitchtracker, it seems the God of War Ragnarok is taking a lead in the streaming business. Leaving games like Call of Duty MWII, Valorant, and Minecraft behind. GOW has garnered almost 135K+ views in the last 7 days. This is shocking as Call of Duty MWII was released just days before God of War Ragnarok.
It is also to be noted that the game has around 5.238% of global shares in the stream. Whereas Call of Duty MWII is going down by 38.3% in viewership. Leading to 81.6K views, and having only 3.158% shares in the total streams worldwide. Undoubtedly, the GOW is making progress in the streaming community. It will hopefully remain the same for some time now.
But some other reports from Final Weapon, show that the game is also the second most game to be viewed on Twitch that is released by PlayStation. According to them, The Last of Us Part 2 (with 508K+ viewership) is still the most viewed PlayStation game. It is followed by GoW Ragnarok (with 478K+ viewership) and Ghost of Tsushima (with 315K+ viewership).
How good are GoW Ragnarok sales so far?
Just hours after its release, charts firm GfK head Dorian Bloch predicted that God of War Ragnarök will premiere at No. 1 on next week’s sales rankings. He said, that the game is the “first cross-gen title in the series.”

“Day 1 physical sales were already greater than any other full-week launch sales for other titles in this franchise,” Bloch further continued. Notably, according to Sony’s Quarterly Reports, with 23 million sales, the series revival for God Of War was one of the most popular games ever produced exclusively for the PlayStation. And Ragnarök was projected to do similarly.
