The highly anticipated re-release of Naughty Dog’s Magnum opus game, The Last of Us Part I, had a heavy weight of expectations on its back. Unfortunately, it was nowhere near the standard that was promised for the PC version. Brimmed with glitches, bugs, and outrageous GPU consumption, the buyer riled up on social media. 

While the console release is somewhat playable, the PC port, according to many, is nothing but a ‘joke’. Even the customers who have the latest GPUs and hardwares were also witnessing frequent frame drops, disorienting character models, and many other problems which are making the game unplayable.

On social media, fans expressed their disappointment. With Tweets and posts talking about the game, players made it clear that Naughty Dog severy failed to maintain their standard on the PC port. The grievances even plagued the game’s reviews on Metacritic and the Steam Store Page.

After the phenomenal reception of HBO Max’s The Last of Us television series based on the original 2013 game, the hype was very high for the next-gen re-release. But after the review bombs, it seems reliving the nostalgia has become a distant dream for PC players. Currently, “The Last of Us Part I continues to trend downwards on Steam sitting at a negative rating of 33.65%.” according to an official report by Naughty Dog

“Joel and Sarah deserve better than this,” was what DomTheBomb said while sharing a screenshot from the iconic intro scene of the game, when players get to witness the world and the tragic backstory of one of the protagonists of the game, Joel, and his daughter. However, due to the bad optimization, even the iconic scene looks like a mess.

Many users came forward and stated that even after owning a fairly capable system, the game is unplayable. A user named, @MrHooboMaster on Twitter said, “I have a MONSTER pc and even at 100+ fps it’s stuttering like crazy, has bad looking DLSS and TERRIBLE/BROKEN mouse controls. Fu*king yikes Sony, Iron Galaxy, and naughty dog.”

Even on steam, the tragic review continued. One of the users posted a hilarious comment saying, “I got a job, got married, had kids, got divorced, died, and came back to life by the time the shaders were done downloading. All of this to realize that the game runs like sh*t. this game also eats your vram for breakfast lunch and dinner. please do not buy until the game is better optimized.”
