Fans comfort Valkyrae as she shares her anxiety-coping mechanism with her community
While welcoming viewers and preparing to start a stream, she was giving some updates on what would be happening in the few days regarding the upcoming projects. As she was sharing information, she admitted, “I’ve never talked about this before but my whole life I have had this uh my copium, my copium? My coping mechanism for anxiety is uh picking and scratching. And I think it’s a mixture of everything that’s happening coming up and also uh my increase of caffeine.”
She further shared that she had been doing this since middle school and once her mother had to take her to the hospital as she would scratch her scalp until it would bleed. She went on to share that she likes streaming as it then helps her in avoiding scratching.
Valkyre went to Twitter to share this information with her fandom. She tweeted, “Hi I’m Rachel and I cope with anxiety by scratching and picking my skin until I bleed 👋😀.” The audience took the response warmly, and fans along with other streamers replied to her tweet. Streamer BrookeAB replied, “hi I’m Brooke and I rip out my hair because that’s my only coping ability 😅❤️ love ya!”

I used to cope with anxiety by playing videogames. But then i'd just get in my head and be anxious anyway. This was since 1st grade.
