Recently the British Rapper and online personality, JJ aka KSI, had been facing a lot of backlash due to his use of a racial slur in one of the recent Sidemen videos. For those who aren’t aware, the word is deemed a racial slur towards South Asians and Muslims in the UK.
After the controversial clip went viral, the video was soon removed from the channel. But the damage was already made. Immense backlash and criticisms were thrown at the influencer. KSI has understood the graveness of his mistake and wrote an apology online, after which he declared that he’ll be taking a break from social media. KSI visits Mosques after the ‘racial slur’ drama
Following the backlash after the Sidemen Sunday video, KSI officially announced his “break” from the internet. With a heavy heart, JJ took responsibility for his actions and issued an apology. He confessed that he has made a terrible mistake, and he was looking forward to making himself better.
“I wanna apologise for saying a racial slur in a recent Sidemen video. There’s no excuse, no matter the circumstances, I shouldn’t have said it and I’m sorry. I’ve always said to my audience that they shouldn’t worship me or put me on a pedestal because I’m human. Im not perfect, I’m gonna mess up in life, and lately I’ve been messing up a lot. So I’ve decided I’m gonna just take a break from social media for a while,” wrote KSI on Twitter.
Being true to his word, KSI embarked on a pilgrimage to amend his mistakes. After using the derogatory word, KSI visited different Mosques, talking and learning, to educate himself more on the culture.

KSI visited Al-Hikam Institute, a Mosque in Bradford. An alleged fan made a video of KSI getting advice from one of the leaders of the Mosque and uploaded it on TikTok. This stirred another series of drama as some fans criticized the gesture, while many accepted it with appreciation and praised KSI for taking responsibility for his actions.
While fans understood his actions, many were having mixed responses to KSI’s actions
“This is why everyone likes KSI, I have never seen an influencer this big always take accountability for his actions, he doesn’t shy away from criticism, even makes videos listening to criticism and does the right thing, good guy,” wrote a fan on Twitter.
They made KSI visit a mosque in Bradford. Mad. If you really wanted him to understand Pakistanis, you'd have him hire a bmw and drive down wilmslow Road on eid.

So strange. Because everyone knows its all for show. Not that he should have to do ANYTHING other than apologize. Especially since he simply said a word. Did not aim it at anyone.

It's always commendable when someone takes responsibility for their actions and makes efforts to educate themselves about sensitive issues like racial slurs. It shows a willingness to learn and grow, which is essential for creating a more inclusive and respectful society.
