The recently released Hogwarts Legacy is racking up some highly positive reviews all over the board. The fans are ecstatic to finally have a game that is true to the source and presents an experience that they have been craving ever since the PlayStation 1 era. But that doesn’t mean there are no complaints.
The fanbase has managed to find a new avenue to roast the game. Ironically, it is an aspect that they were demanding ever since the game’s release. While the game respected the source and delivered it as fairly as possible, according to some fans, this certain feature is affecting the experience.

Developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Hogwarts Legacy offers an adventure set in the wizarding world of Harry Potter. But other than the setting and some key details, Hogwarts Legacy follows its own original story. This trait was revealed even from the initial promotions of the game, which had the tagline, “Live the Unwritten”.
But it is not that the game is completely detached from the lore. Many aspects of the story and the setting are heavily inspired by the original books. Such are the spells. In terms of the magical arts, the devs didn’t take too much creative liberty and tried their best to make them authentic. Especially the Dark Arts.
From the announcement of the game, fans were enquiring if there will be an option for the players to delve into the dark and forbidden spells of the wizarding world. And their requests were heard and made true as many of the Dark Arts were made available in the game, including the most severe, “Avada Kadavra”.

The function of “Avada Kadavra” is simple. It is a killing spell, and it kills everything. In the books, this spell was hushed up the most as it was believed that using a killing spell is an unforgivable crime. The same goes in the game, but players can go as far as learning it and using it on their enemies to make quick work of them.
How did the fans react to the killing spell?
But the fans weren’t very happy with the insta-kill spell. According to them, it is making the game too easy. Online gaming journalist Full Squad Gaming, made a meme tweet saying, “Hogwarts Legacy boss fights are harder than Elden Ring.” Only to be followed by a clip of the player using the spell to one-shot giant.
