FIFA is a game that people seldom play alone. FIFA is also a game that allows players to communicate with others about their reactions when they don’t like how a game is going or just congratulate each other on a well-planned goal.
Everyone is aware now that FIFA is finally leaving the house of EA for a different publisher and developer. EA did its best to make the most out of this sports franchise’s name. It even started a whole new era of random loot boxes with its FIFA Ultimate team. And now that FIFA has new developers working on it, some wonder, what if FIFA had this weird feature?

FIFA players would have loved this feature!
Gamers are a creative bunch; they have imagination without any bounds and that imagination sometimes leads to some really weird new ideas. This imaginative thought process was witnessed when FIFA commentator LeahRevelle asked her Twitter followers, “Imagine FIFA had proximity chat loooololol”.
For those unaware, proximity chat is a kind of voice chat feature that only activates when two players are close to each other. This means if there are four players in an ongoing game, they would hear each other when they are close in-game.

And this could seriously lead to some hilarious circumstances. Imagine hearing people’s frustrated screams when someone shoots a goal! But this would mostly be a very impractical thing to add to a game like FIFA.
Proximity chat usually works best when there are numerous players involved and are not connected to each other directly. In team-based games like Call of Duty and Warzone, proximity chat can prove very productive indeed. But in a game that mostly offers 2 V 2 matches, it would only cause some sort of chaos, that is mostly unasked for.
So yes, proximity chat, is an exciting thing nowadays. But not every game has something to gain from this feature. But still, in case the next developer decides to add chaotic full-team multiplayer game mode to their version of the game, it might be the next big thing on Twitch!
This Tweet got a number of exciting responses!
While Proximity chat might not be very suitable for a game like FIFA, there still are fans with ideas about how it can help or not help people in having more fun!

Love how everyone keeps calling it "Prox chat" for a 2 person lobby 😂
What's it gonna be, only hear the other person when you go in for a challenge?
