The lead actress of the acclaimed HBO Max television series The Last of Us, Bella Ramsey, who plays Ellie in the show, expressed her excitement for the second part of the show. Seeing the astonishing success that the first installment of the series received, HBO gave the early green light for the second season.
The first season of the show focused on the Journey of Joel and Ellie, adapting from the first game of the franchise, released back in 2013. The second season plans to work with the second game’s story which mostly focuses on Ellie’s journey, parallel with a new antagonist/protagonist, Abby. This story also ponders on Ellie’s personal life and relationships.

There hasn’t been much information about when the shoot for the second season will start, but the showrunners, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, had shared that the shoots could start later this year. Chronologically, part two takes place years after the first game where Ellie has grown up to be a young adult.
In a Podcast by Comicbook, Bella said, “I’m really excited. It still feels surreal to me that it’s going to go again,” Pedro Pascal’s ‘Blessing’, the young ‘Bellie’ added, “But also, I don’t want to go into it comparing it to the experience of the first season, because Season 1 of The Last of Us was the best year of my life, and it’s not going to be the same.”

The first season was one of the most memorable moments of Bella’s life and career. The bonds that she made with her co-stars and directors were much closer than mere professional relationships. “I just, yeah, want to be back in Canada with Craig Mazin and Pedro [Pascal] for a little bit. It’s going to be really nice,” said Ramsey.
The initial broadcast of the show is almost at its end. The epic series will end with the upcoming episode 9. There are many theories and speculations floating around. Fans are very excited to see how or if the showrunners are going to change the ending. The original creator of the series Neil Druckmanm once shared that there will be some big changes in the story and potentially the ending, which will directly influence the upcoming season.
