Pokimane wants people to be more accountable
In a recent stream, Pokimane went on to discuss the need for accountability in the online platform. She says that people should be made accountable for what they say on the internet. She was serious about how important it is to create some law to make people accountable for their online actions.
Right now, the online space is a hub of anonymity. Anyone can post anything they want. These actions, without a pinch of consideration, create a toxic environment.
“If you ever need someone to explain the cause, I am your girl,” Pokimane said in her recent stream.
She is planning to contact some groups or communities that are into public causes like these. And she is extending her hand to these people to advocate for making people accountable for their online actions.
Moreover, Poki has faced a large extent of online toxicity from random people. Furthermore, you can see these in many of her YouTube videos where she responds to toxic strangers who appeal for an unban request. Pokimane has a series of such videos on her YouTube platform.
Pokimane is not the only streamer that has come out talking about the toxic environment that is present online. Last year Twitch streamer Sydeon also called out the toxicity and sexism she faced while playing Valorant.
