Spider-Man 2 for the Sony PlayStation is undoubtedly one of the year’s most anticipated games. It is the direct sequel to Spider-Man, the critically acclaimed and fan-favorite game by Insomniac Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment, released back in 2018. Ever since the announcement of the sequel, there hasn’t been much news regarding the details.

So far there have been a lot of teases and hype toward the game, but there have been no official announcements or gameplay reveals of the game, and not even a new trailer has been released recently. This void of information regarding the game has made the fans very upset with the developers.

Back in September 2021, Spider-Man 2 was announced during the PlayStation Showcase. It was revealed that the game will feature both Spider-Man characters. The original web-slinger from the first game, Peter Parker, and Miles Morales from the spin-off game, Spider-Man: Miles Morales. There have been some teases confirming that the parasitic supervillain Venom will make his appearance in the game.

Sony PlayStation creative director Bryan Intihar said on PS Blog, “Here’s to next year being just as exciting as we continue to get Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 ready for release next fall,”. Revealing the potential release date of the game to be the fall of this year. But even though we are well into 2023, there hasn’t been any new trailer or news about the game.

Nadji Jeter, the voice actor for Miles Morales in the games, also shared a post on his Instagram which had the caption, “stay tuned…” and featured a frame from the game. This cryptic post was the last straw for the fans. All these indirect teases and no new information about the game finally made the fans snap.

How did the fans react?

The fans were done with all the teasers and cryptic posts. On Twitter, they became vocal, boldly demanding answers from the devs and speculating when they could get a new trailer or gameplay details. A fan on Twitter said, “Yeah but he’s been teasing stuff for awhile and nothings happened. It feels empty at this point. Feels like we might only get something around April or May which is forever…” while another fan claimed, “They Better Actually Tease Something”
