10 years since the release of its predecessor, GTA 6 is Rockstar’s most anticipated game. While not much is known, its first trailer is scheduled to come out by the end of this year. While the game will surely release on consoles, will the next Grand Theft Auto’s arrive on PC?

Now, it’s not to say that GTA 6 won’t be on PC. However, the main question is: how soon it will be available for PC players to enjoy? Is it going to be available from day one, witnessing a simultaneous debut with consoles like PS5 and Xbox Series X\S? This article will try to throw some light on this exact situation.

A lot of games releasing these days end up coming on multiple platforms simultaneously. Alongside their console versions, PC owners also get to enjoy the games at the same time. That’s what many studios try to do in order to woo users on every device possible. However, things work differently when it comes to Rockstar Games.

Going by the studio’s track record, GTA titles are usually made available on PC after a lengthy period, compared to consoles. For instance, GTA 4 was initially launched for Xbox 360 and PS3 in April 2008. However, it was made available for PC players only in December that year.

Similarly, GTA 5 was released originally on PlayStation and Xbox in 2013. On PC, it came out after more than a year. Even Red Dead Redemption 2 also received the same treatment regarding its PC release. However, there is hope for GTA 6 to get a PC release on day 1. How?

The last entry in GTA 5 has been extremely successful on PC. Since its debut on the platform, it has been played a lot by the users, thanks to numerous mods as well. All the way back in 2015, Forbes reported that GTA V had crossed 2 million. Even in 2023, it sees a concurrent player base of over 100,000. Plus, PC versions of the game have sold really well on Epic Games, Steam, and the studio’s own app.

Considering this aspect, there’s a slight chance of GTA 6 releasing day one on PC alongside PS5 and Xbox Series X\S. But the final decision will depend on what Rockstar has planned.

What to expect from the story of the next Grand Theft Auto?

As far as the plot is concerned, nothing has been confirmed just yet. Despite the biggest leak in gaming history, from September 2022, there’s hardly anything substantial in terms of what GTA 6 will offer. The only thing known to the community is that it will reportedly feature two playable protagonists. One of them is rumored to be Jason, while the female character is said to be Lucia.
