And when it comes to being physically gifted, the absolute juggernaut that is Shaquille O’Neal. Former NBA pro can palm the ball easily in his hands. But what about the titular Nintendo handheld?

Given Shaq’s immense size, his hands are enormous as well. However, are they big enough to fit the two-handed Nintendo Switch? Although it might seem like a simple answer, you’d be surprised.
Do Shaquille O’Neal’s hands dwarf the Nintendo Switch?
Shaquille ‘Superman’ O’Neal has always been a towering presence on the court. Coming in at around 2.16m, the NBA has certainly seen taller players in its lifetime. However, that didn’t stop Shaq from becoming one of the most legendary players the sport has ever seen. But one could say he’s facing one of his toughest challenges yet, fitting an entire Switch console in his hands.
For the uninitiated, Nintendo launched the Switch. back in 2017 and it has quickly become a bestseller. Some fans even consider it the king of the handheld consoles market. The Switch isn’t a petite console by any means. Even if you remove the Joy-cons, the screen itself is a respectable 6.2 inches.
Adding the joy-cons to this already respectable package nets a total length of 9.4 inches. How does that stack up against the average hand length for male NBA players? ClutchPoints notes that the average male has a hand length of 7.4 inches. However, Shaq is anything but average.

This behemoth player comes in at a whopping 10.25 inches in terms of hand length. This is the size of the Switch and then some! He could essentially tape two of these consoles to his hands. Even the OLED model of the Switch coming in at 0.1 inches longer stands no chance against Shaq.

It seems Shaq would need a custom Switch if he wants to play his favorite Nintendo titles comfortably. But he must not be too worried, considering his favorite video game is NBA Jam from back in the day.
