Just like any other huge media corporation, Nintendo sometimes hides the truth and works in mysterious ways. They don’t lie, but they don’t speak it either. And that’s why for the last six years no one has heard them say a single word about any upcoming Super Mario game.

There are several reasons behind it, the biggest being that Nintendo tries to only announce games when they are somewhat close to launching. That might be due to the lesson they learned from Metroid Prime 4.

But lately, Nintendo has started doing a very curious thing, which has made fans wonder if they are getting a new Mario game soon.

Nintendo might be teasing Super Mario Odyssey Sequel for Nintendo Switch!

Recently, a bunch of Nintendo Switch users found a very curious mail waiting for them in their inbox. That mail simply informed them of Super Mario Odyssey.

It talked to them about collectibles, unlockable outfits, and even some secrets that can be found in the game. This is pretty cool on Nintendo’s part. But Nintendo doesn’t just do these kinds of things without a reason.

The last time gamers received such emails from the company, they were about WarioWare. Wario, who is exactly what an inverted or opposite Mario would be called, has his own series of weird games.

This series is called WarioWare, and they are a bunch of rhythm-based games. And when Nintendo sent out emails to fans about WarioWare, they launched a new Wario game on the console after a few months.

And that’s what fans are finding curious about this mail. This gives them an impression that maybe a new Super Mario game is on the way. And that game might even be a direct sequel to Super Mario Odyssey.

There might be another angle to it too!

While some think that these emails mean the arrival of a new Super Mario game, others think that this might just mean that Nintendo is trying to hype Mario fans for the upcoming movie. Not as if they need any more reason to be hyped for it. This kind of marketing works quite well.

Whatever Nintendo’s intention might be behind these emails, one thing is for sure, if there is a new Super Mario game in the works, it is not coming for the current generation of Nintendo Switch.
