Rumors of the Nintendo Switch 2 are not stopping and are increasing by the day that it has become a tiresome task to keep track of them. There are people talking about its performance, and on the other hand, there are people talking about the games that are to be expected to launch for it. Moreover, there are even people who seem to know when it will launch. The last one might be a bit of a stretch, but most of these rumors connect well and seem believable. But what to do with rumors when Nintendo denies them altogether?

Recently, in an interview, Nintendo’s President, Shuntaro Furukawa, directly denied most of the Switch 2 rumors. He denied ever showing it to a developer, as suggested a while ago; he even refuted the fact that this console was shown during Gamescom 2023. So where should fans go from here?

Yes, the Nintendo Switch is currently living past its days. The console might be selling well, but it is showing its age. Many third-party developers cannot decide what to do with it, while others have simply moved on. First-party games are plentiful, and they are pretty well made too, but some fans want most games on their consoles, and not just some first-party ones.

But the Nintendo president has denied Nintendo Switch 2 rumors. Should fans still keep their hopes high? Well, yes, they should, in fact, even raise their hopes of seeing this console very soon. Interestingly, Nintendo is fond of denying the obvious. In February 2021, Nintendo told a bunch of reporters that they were not planning any Switch hardware updates; a few months later, Switch OLED was launched. See where we are going with this?

They continue doing such things to make sure fans continue buying the current stock that they have put out. It makes sense too. Denying the Gamecom showcase too makes sense; they probably made most of the audience sign an NDA or something, so why would they go around saying it themselves?
