Nintendo Directs are several pre-recorded presentations where Nintendo reveals a number of new titles.

They reveal a number of new things during their Directs and it is something that is pretty regular and happens every few months. Fans wait very long for a Direct event, just so they can get to know what is coming next for the Nintendo Switch console. The last real Nintendo Direct fans got was in September 2022. Of course, there was one for Super Mario Bros. Movie.

There was also an Indie Direct held during November, but it focused mostly on Indie game ports for Switch. However, those are not what fans consider main, given the fact that they did not focus on any mainline games.

And now it has been a long time since they have gotten any new information from Nintendo regarding any new games at all. And that’s why fans are pretty curious about what Nintendo is planning to show next and when.

Is Nintendo planning a new Direct anytime soon?

There have been rumors about Nintendo working on numerous new games for Switch currently. These new games have names, which are pretty well-known now. They float on the internet. The only thing fans are not sure about is when they can expect an official announcement.

It appears that an official announcement would be done during an upcoming Direct, which looks like happening anytime now.

This upcoming Nintendo Direct that we can expect from sometime in February or March would mostly be focused on first-party titles coming to Switch. The reason everyone is hoping for these games to drop in this window is that this presentation has been a long time coming now.

Nintendo has a bunch of games that they have yet to reveal and all those games are to release in 2023. All that is because they have plans to shift focus to their next console from the end of 2023.

All this information only means that Nintendo would have to announce the games during this upcoming Direct. And if they have a bunch of games that are already completed or are in the final stages of development, that means they would not want to hold on to them for any reason.

The date is yet to be confirmed for this upcoming presentation and Nintendo usually reveals these plans only a couple of days ahead. So no one has a way to know when this one will drop.

Would we see Metroid Prime Trilogy finally?

The biggest game that fans are expecting to be shown during this upcoming showcase is the much-talked-about Metroid Prime Trilogy. Fans are pretty excited about this series too. Some say this is the series of games that would pave the way for the much-awaited Metroid Prime 4.
