He became the second solo creator to cross the 100 million subscriber mark, with the Swedish YouTuber, PewDiePie, leading the race. On September 4, 2022, MrBeast uploaded a fresh video on his YouTube channel. With the title, “I Hunted 100 People For $1,000,000.” Jimmy rented one of the largest malls in the world. He invited hundred lucky fans, giving them $10,000 each whilst locking them inside the mall.

MrBeast, then challenged himself to find each one of them with a simple condition. If he found the contestant under the given time, they had to give back their $10,000 upon elimination. And if MrBeast wasn’t able to do so, the winners can take home the money as a prize. Sadly, Jimmy could only find 77 contestants out of 100, conditioning him to give away $23,000 as a prize. I mean, it was for the best as he had a million dollars on the line, to which he lost $23K.

It was for the first time that MrBeast did not just lose out on money, but also his viewership numbers as they heavily tanked. He could barely get past the 30 million mark, with his video struggling to get the perfect reach. For this, he did not post a pinned comment under his video, writing a hilarious statement to fans.
