Microsoft is always experimenting with Xbox. Fans are still not over with the rumour of the new Xbox Controller and Microsoft has started another venture. Maybe that’s why it is trying so hard to purchase Activision Blizzard. It has also been pretty evident that its primary focus has been on Xbox Game Pass for a while now.

While most people have an idea of Microsoft’s future plans, the company nevertheless tries to keep them under wraps. But something has leaked that has pretty much laid out every single aspect of Microsoft’s future plans in regard to the Xbox brand!

Microsoft is planning an online future for Xbox yet again!

A while ago, when Microsoft introduced its last-generation console, the Xbox One, its executives made a very unusual announcement. They made it clear that this new console would be online only, and it would not allow players to use pre-owned game discs. Of course, it became a reason for an uproar among numerous Xbox fans. One of the executives even made the infamous statement, “For those with an unstable internet connection, we have a console called Xbox 360”.

This caused such a ripple in the gaming industry that fans all over were turned away from Xbox and decided to buy a gamer-friendly PlayStation 4 console.

Microsoft had to restructure its Xbox leadership and put Phil Spencer in charge of that brand. He definitely turned it around, but it appears the future of Xbox will bring it back to where it started.

According to a recent leak, it appears Microsoft is planning to yet again enforce an always-online infrastructure on its fans. But this time around, they would be well prepared for the harsh questions. The biggest reason for this change would be the online-only nature of the Xbox Game Pass service.

They would even design their next user-powerful console around streaming and Game Pass functionality. It would have somewhere around 24-32 GB of RAM and a powerful AMD chip. All this is combined with a powerful Wi-Fi connectivity device to allow for up to 3GBps transfer speed. Also, the new console from Microsoft will not have a Blu-ray drive.

It only makes sense, given the fact that Microsoft has already nuked the physical launch of all their games. They have even started building up an elaborate library of games on their Game Pass service. Maybe this time the backlash will not be as severe as it was last time.
