Since the introduction of a rebooted Modern Warfare universe, Call of Duty has witnessed multiple Operators in recent games. Especially when it comes to Multiplayer and Warzone. But in terms of fan-favorite characters, none have amassed as much popularity as Mara – the female Operator who was originally introduced in the series just four years ago.
With the next title, Modern Warfare 3 getting close to release, a lot of players are still hoping for her return. However, there’s been a mystery surrounding this character.

There’s no doubt about the fact that Soap, Captain Price, Ghost, and Alex are poster boys of the COD series. However, for players who invest endless hours into online matches across Multiplayer and Warzone, it’s probable that they get attracted to other characters as well. Mara happens to be exactly that Operator, who’s now become an iconic personality in the franchise. Being a Warcom Operator from the Coalition faction, she was revealed in Season One of 2019’s Modern Warfare.
For the uninitiated, the character is based on the real life model and YouTuber Alex Zedra. In fact, the actress has gained an insane popularity ever since she made her Call of Duty debut as Mara.

Last year, there were certain rumors regarding Mara coming back to Call of Duty. A TikTok clip had surfaced on the internet allegedly featuring Alex herself who reportedly confirmed her return.“I can officially say that yes Mara will be making a return for Modern Warfare 2,” she said. But the clip was later removed. Further, there’s been no official word from Activision on this entire situation so far. As of now, her return seems highly unlikely. But there’s still plenty more to look forward to.
What’s in store for Modern Warfare 3 players in 2023?
While Mara might not be coming back, there will be many new Operators to watch out for. In fact, the ongoing Beta has already unleashed a captivating lineup of base characters. Further, there are even more surprises waiting for the players in MW3.

After the launch, the game will present an improved Multiplayer experience. Developer Sledgehammer’s team has tried to bring back classic movement mechanics in online matches. Meanwhile, the game will also see the return of 16 remastered maps from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2. To name a few, there will be Rust, Estate, Skidrow, Scrapyard, Derail, Afghan, and Highrise among many others.
Then, there’s also the Zombies mode, based on a PvE format. It will be set inside an open world setting of Urzikstan region. Players will need to go against hordes of the undead. Eventually, they will be required to survive, loot items, finish key missions, and extract successfully.

Modern Warfare 3 is releasing officially on November 10.
