In a recent interview, Smith mentioned that Spider-Man 2 will also have a play-time roughly similar to Marvel’s Spider-Man. If that is true, we expect somewhere around 17 hours of run-time for the upcoming release as well. However, perfectionists and completionists may take much longer, if not double the time, to finish every quest and mission of the game and achieve 100% completion. Gamescom host Geoff Keighley recently shared his thoughts on the game after having early access. Keighley believes Spider-Man 2 “may end up as the best superhero video game of all time.”
After playing 3 hours of MARVEL's Spider-Man 2, my hype has only increased. Insomniac has delivered what may end up as the best superhero video game of all time. The gameplay is so fluid, the combat is super deep and rewarding. Really impressed so far! pic.twitter.com/nM2QVprqrp

Along with its run-time, the devs have also sparked several rumors about the game’s potential main villains. While we expect cult baddies like Kraven the Hunter and Venom to make an appearance in Spider-Man 2, trying to take over New York City. Still, there is no concrete knowledge as to who will be the main boss that Spidey will need to take down.
While other villains are obviously going to make life miserable for the wall-crawling superhero, some fans speculate we may get to see Peter in a symbiote suit being the ultimate foe of Spider-Man.
More in-game features
While Spider-Man 2’s main characters are being highly debated by the community, there are also other features in Spider-Man 2 that have caught the attention of fans. The devs have claimed that some features like slowed-down combat will play a pivotal role in immersion. For players who feel Spider-Man games are too action-centric, can choose to slow down in-game actions in order to enjoy the game’s breathtaking stunts.
