Fortnite is one of the most successful live service games that are still going on. It was launched mainly as a cooperative survival game on July 25, 2017. Eventually, the developer of this game, Epic Games, decided to leave the survival part behind in favor of the PVP Battle Royale aspect of the game.

And over the years, the Battle Royale has pretty much taken a centre stage, while the survival mode lingers on the sidelines.

Is Fortnite losing its steam?

Fortnite eventually became one of the most streamed games on Twitch. Some say it still is, and they might even be right. Epic Games also tries its best to keep things interesting for the players by releasing new updates; updates with new content, and content with interesting new mechanics.

This new content is accompanied as part of new chapters. These chapters have different seasons that last a couple of months each. Every chapter introduces a new theme to this game. Each theme brings with it, a bunch of new items that bring new flavors to this game.

From just running, and using shopping trolleys to driving cars, flying planes, and riding bikes, things have changed in Fortnite every now and then. Weapons change too! From guided missiles to handguns and even swords.

Alongside these items, the story also changes. Fortnite gave its players a bit of story every now and then with environmental storytelling. These stories sometimes enticed fans and sometimes kept them indifferent, but it made one thing clear, Epic Games are constantly working on this game.

With the release of competition like Call of Duty Warzone, some would have expected to see a downfall in Fortnite’s popularity, but surprisingly that did not happen either.

The game that is going strong for almost six years, and is partnering with the likes of MrBeast to give players a prize of a million dollars just to play; this game’s developers know exactly how to keep its ranks high.

Yes, some streamers leave it behind every now and then, but that happens to every game out there. Streamers are people, and sometimes people just want to move on to something else. But this gives other streamers a spot to fill.
