He mentioned that since its addition in 2019’s Modern Warfare entry, the matchmaking process has tended to become faster. Because now, there’s a larger pool to draw from for everybody. The YouTuber further mentioned that in comparison to console users, PC players can now enjoy several old COD games as well due to the option of crossplay. Previously, they weren’t able to do so due to a small number of users. But with an increased space, combining console players as well, they can end up finding a connection.
Perhaps the biggest advantage of this feature is the option of playing with anyone having a Call of Duty game regardless of the platform they are on. This was something the community didn’t get to witness prior to 2019’s installment. Nowadays, you don’t need to have the same device as that of your friend in order to enjoy gaming. With crossplay, it can be done smoothly on PC, PlayStation or the Xbox.

There are also many inevitable problems that have emerged due to the crossplay option. TheXclusiveAce said that issues like wall hacks and other aimbots have spread across different platforms these days. Previously, it didn’t used to happen on a larger scale. But with the presence of crossplay, one issue on a certain platform, like PC, can affect players on consoles as well.
Then there’s the the situation of PC players getting certain advantages of making their settings better than the individuals having consoles. Yes, it’s not the case with the latest consoles but those on the older generation of devices can’t compete with someone having a flagship level of PC setup to run the game on higher frame rates. Indirectly, it ends up giving an edge to the PC players in matches against past-gen console users.
