Call of Duty Modern Warfare II is the latest installment available from Activision. However, it will soon cease to receive support from the devs as they will shift focus to a brand new premium release. Interestingly, this upcoming game is none other than a sequel to the ongoing title itself.
Ever since it was initially leaked, Modern Warfare III has been in the news constantly. After a long wait, fans recently got to witness the first look of this entry, thanks to an official logo reveal. Moreover, there’s a trailer also out now, teasing what’s about to come in the next CoD offering. However, many gaming enthusiasts are concerned. Popular YouTuber and COD expert TheGamingRevolution recently took to Twitter/X to share some concerning thoughts on MWIII. According to what he has noticed, it looks like 2023’s game is only going to be available on the latest consoles like Xbox Series X\S and PS5. It might not arrive on last-gen devices like the Xbox One. At least, that’s what his tweet suggests.

TheGamingRevolution’s speculation is based on the official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III page for Xbox. Right now, it only mentions the Series X and S as the supported platforms. There’s no information regarding a release on Xbox One.

Now, speaking of PS4, one can assume that Modern Warfare III might arrive for this specific console. That’s because the official PlayStation YouTube channel currently mentions the game’s trailer with the headline ‘PS5 & PS4 Games’. But this news is still not confirmed by Sony.
Players who are owning last-gen devices, namely PS4 and Xbox One, may receive good or bad news going forward. How? Well, there are two scenarios possible at the moment.

Talking about the first one, it could be the case that the employee responsible for naming the YouTube trailer on PS’s channel committed a mistake. As a result, it’s showing PS4 as a supported platform alongside PlayStation 5. Another possibility could be that Modern Warfare III is indeed releasing for the last-gen consoles. The official Xbox page might just be having an issue describing platform-related details.
