After a long wait, the Beta phase for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is now live. Just recently, players have received access to it in order to try out the game’s limited build before an official launch. Activision will eventually unleash the brand new FPS premium next month. Meanwhile, lot of gamers may have few doubts regarding the Beta. Especially those who haven’t pre-purchased Modern Warfare 3 yet.

One of the biggest questions of players is: is the beta actually free or pay-to-play? Well, no need to think about it any further, and here’s why.

The simple answer is that the Beta is completely free. However, there are certain crucial details players need to know before they can rejoice. Although Modern Warfare 3’s Beta is free for all the players, they will only get to enjoy it towards the end of the ongoing Beta phase, divided into two weekends.

Players who haven’t opted to buy Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 just yet will have to wait until October 14. Only then they can actually access the free Beta when it is available for their respective platforms.

On the other hand, COD players who have already pre-purchased either the Vault Edition or the Standard Edition can start testing it already. For those on PlayStation, they are the first ones to jump into the Beta build. Meanwhile, Xbox and PC players will get to have early access from October 12 onwards. And finally, people not owning the game, yet, will obtain the chance to play the Beta from October 14 through 16. So what does the Beta include?

Modern Warfare 3 Beta content details

The limited build of MW3 consists of some incredible Multiplayer modes. Players can explore classics like Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Kill Confirmed among others.

There are also five iconic maps available to jump into. For the first Beta weekend, Favela, Rust, Estate, Skidrow, and Popov Power Plant are available. In the second weekend, players will receive an additional map called Highrise.

Further, there is an open world Zombies mode as well. It is based on the PvE format and requires the players to form teams and fight hordes of the undead. They will need to finish certain narrative-driven quests, loot items, and then make a successful extraction in the end. The Zombies mode features the new Warzone map of Urzikstan.

The Modern Warfare 3 Beta will continue till October 16, 2023. It will be the last day to try it out for all platform users.
