Gotham Knights is just a few months away from its big launch on multiple next gen platforms. While the wait for the title will soon get over, there are still many questions in the minds of the hardcore fans who might be wondering about the game’s story in detail.

It’s already known that Gotham Knights is, in some way, connected to the Arkham trilogy based on the DC Comics. Its main plot itself takes place after the events of 2015’s Arkham Knight, not directly though. Although the game’s promotional clips have shown that Batman disappeared after the ending of the final game in the trilogy, there has been no official word on his death, until now.

Is Batman going to appear in WB’s Gotham Knights in any capacity?

The very first trailer for the WB Games Montreal project had cleared one thing, that the Dark Knight is not around anymore in the Gotham City. Following the tragic events of Arkham Knight, four new heroes have emerged to carry forward his legacy. They will be responsible to restore justice while fighting the crime.

But it seems like the popularity of the original Arkham series and Batman, himself, is such that no one can ignore his impact on the upcoming Gotham Knights. It was proved once again during the San Diego Comic-Con event. While attending a fan Q&A session, WB Games Montreal creative director Patrick Redding answered a lot of queries.

Moreover, the creative director also added another key information for Gotham Knights. He revealed that Joker is also not going to be there in the game. This new detail is coming directly from the superhero title’s director himself. Thus, it can be implied that this time, Batman is really dead forever in the gaming universe.

Sadly, Arkham Knight was the last time fans witnessed their favorite DC superhero fighting the crime. Coming back to Gotham Knights, then it will make its way on October 25th, 2022. Players will be able to have it on the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
