Exclusives have always been a big part of the plethora of titles the PlayStation consoles have. In 2018, when Insomniac Games finally released the highly anticipated Spider-Man game, fans could barely contain their joy. The arrival of Spider-Man was more than the arrival of just a game. It showed fans a superhero game can be fun and hold an impressive story. And following its success, fans got Spider-Man: Miles Morales. And Spider-Man 2 is only a month away. While fans remain pumped with the coundown bringing players closer to Venom and the symbiote Spidey suit, Insomniac games are now shifting focus to their next big project, Wolverine.

While Wolverine is set to make his next appearance in Deadpool 3, he will also be getting his own game on the PS5. With the Wolverine title, Insomniac Games has the chance to create a masterpiece, but fans know very little of its current state. That might just change!

The biggest thing that stands out for players is the way the game’s world is structured. As shown in the trailer, the game shows the island of Madripoor. It seems like the game will follow a semi-open world structure, not limiting players to Xavier’s Institute. It looks like Wolverine will play out similar to the recent God of War games, which gave players the opportunity to explore while working on the main story.

Speaking of God of War, Wolverine, like Kratos’ story, will also feature an emotional narrative. Besides this, rumors suggest the game is targeting M for Mature rating. This could be a sign of the kind of gameplay we will see in terms of combat. After all, Wolverine’s adamantium blades can unleash a lot of damage. As a result, fans think combat may contain dismemberment.

What has got gamers hyped is the way Insomniac is approaching Logan’s character. Their idea is not to create something new out of their protagonist. Instead, they intend to hold on to what makes the character popular among fans, with the studio’s own imprint on it. With the way the Spider-Man game turned out, Insomniac’s approach to their protagonists feels reliable, especially when it comes to creating a good story.
