Spider-man 2 has been on the wish list of numerous PlayStation owners for a very long time now. Fans have been waiting for it patiently and sometimes impatiently to get some shred of information on it other than “It would be way darker than the first two games” and “It would have Venom as the main antagonist”.

There have been numerous rumors and hits about when fans can expect some more news on this upcoming game. There was even a snippet of the game’s version of Spider-man and Miles Morales in the trailer of the upcoming Spider-Man: Across the spider-verse.

And this particular tease was taken by fans as the ultimate hint, that maybe we would be getting some news soon.

Insomniac games finally have an update on Spider-man 2

Recently, Insomniac Games, the developers of Marvel and Sony’s Spider-Man series have finally spoken. They announced on their official Twitter account that Spider-man 2 would indeed be launching on PlayStation 5 consoles in the Fall of 2023.

The tweet said, “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 swings to PS5 in fall 2023.”

And after a long wait for any news on the upcoming game, it finally has a launch window. It would be launching sometime between September and November of 2023, and now the wait for its gameplay videos begins. Fans now are expecting to see a new trailer showing the visuals and gameplay of this superhero game sometime soon.

2023 has a lot more in store for PlayStation 5 fans

Apart from Spider-man 2, which has pretty much locked 2023 as its launch year now, PlayStation 5 gamers have numerous other big-name titles to be excited for too. The year would be starting with Forspoken, and Dead Space Remake. Then Resident Evil 4 would creep onto the systems on 24 March 2023.

Then there’s the DLC for Horizon Forbidden west, which was recently announced for PlayStation 5 during The Game Awards 2022. Gamers would also get Final Fantasy XVI, the latest much darker iteration of the very long-running Japanese role-playing franchise.

Apart from this, there is Silent Hill 2 remake that would exclusively launch for PlayStation 5 and finally, there are rumors of a Metal Gear Solid Remake and one unannounced Bluepoint Games title that they have recently started teasing.
