It appears that this might just be the era of remakes; almost every developer out there is working on a remake of something. A Persona game is being remade, then there’s that Silent Hill 2 remake, and let’s not forget the recently announced Metal Gear Solid 3 remake.
Nintendo too tried their hands at remaking. They started with Metroid Prime Remastered, which was primarily a remake, and recently continued that trend with Advance Wars 1+2. And this is why, when someone said online that Nintendo might announce a remake for the first Super Mario RPG game, it seemed somewhat plausible.
If this rumor turns out to be true, then it would be a massive treat for Super Mario fans. On the other hand, this might be the perfect time for Nintendo to launch this game, given the fact the movie based on this jumpy plumber is already breaking records.
