Microsoft has some major plans for Xbox players. The company is looking to expand its first-party IP studios lineup. Earlier this year, Xbox added ZeniMax Media, the parent company of the studio Bethesda Softworks in a multibillion-dollar acquisition.

However, Xbox and Microsoft are not done yet. A new report suggests that the console manufacturer is currently evaluating the decision of acquiring the companies behind Tomb Raider, Hitman, and Just Cause.

This new information comes via GamesBeat reporter and industry insider Jeff Grubb. In his latest episode of the ‘, Jeff explained to the viewers Xbox’s potential future plans and what he has learned.

He stated that the company is content with the upcoming line-up of games and is somewhat casual and laid-back when it comes to future acquisitions.

“I think that’s where [Xbox] is at right now,” Grubb said. “Where they’re happy with what they have so they can pump the brakes a little bit and then say ‘okay, let’s take a look around – see what we can purchase,” he added. All of this simply means that Xbox is checking out different studios to see if they will be a great addition.

Xbox already has a great list of first-party titles lined up for 2021 and beyond, so they really don’t need to stress a lot. As per Jeff, the potential list of studios that Xbox is considering buying is the Square Enix-owned Crystal Dynamics (Rise Of The Tomb Raider, Perfect Dark).

Other possibilities include IO Interactive, the studio behind Hitman games. IO is currently developing a new James Bond game. Avalanche Studios are also on Xbox’s radar. This is the same studio that developed Just Cause.
