Almost a year ago, Rockstar Games witnessed an unfortunate situation with the biggest leak, on GTA 6, in gaming history. However, the developer and publisher managed to find the culprit. And the person responsible for this brazen act is a bit of a surprise. Per the reports, an 18-year-old teenager was able to access confidential files related to the awaited title. Eventually, he hacked Rockstar’s systems in order to download multiple videos based on an early build of the project.
The culprit was also behind hacking tech giants like Nvidia and Microsoft before they attacked the Grand Theft Auto publisher in 2022. And now, finally, the person responsible could face the music.

In case anyone missed keeping track of events, an individual named Arian Kurtaj was able to access GTA 6 files from a hotel room last year. In September 2022, he managed to hack Rockstar while being on bail in a previous case of hacking. He had bought an Amazon Fire Stick to allow him to connect to computing services. He also used a newly purchased phone, mouse, and keyboard to commit the crime.
During this timeline, Arian managed to leak GTA 6 gameplay videos on the internet after threatening its developing team. However, it looks like the teenager won’t be able to carry out anymore crimes against big tech firms or studios.

Based on a report by BBC, Arian has been found guilty for multiple hacking cases. What’s important to note is he was connected to a large group known as Lapsus$. This group had carried out various hacking sprees in the past.
When is GTA 6 coming out?
While the hacking situation has been contained by Rockstar, it’s yet to officially announce the next Grand Theft Auto. Fans are still waiting for an update from the publisher. Many rumors have claimed that it may reveal a teaser trailer later this year. But one should take any rumor with a grain of salt, unless Rockstar makes an official announcement.

As for the release date, it’s expected to launch at some point in 2024. Its predecessor is still popular among the fans and GTA Online is continuing to engage the community. However, Rockstar will need to reveal something to keep the hype for the new installment running. Otherwise, fans may soon begin to show their frustration. In fact, an individual recently did something similar during Gamescom 2023’s Opening Night Live by gatecrashing the event while screaming “GTA 6”.
