Nintendo Switch 2 continues to grab attention. 6 years after the release of the Nintendo Switch, the Nintendo community has been eager to know when the Switch 2 will be coming. Moreover, they want to know how it’s going to be a step up from its predecessor. After all, it will need to be a big improvement if it is to keep up with its rivals. And among every rumor and leak revolving around the internet, the most interesting one is about how powerful this console would be.
Some say this upcoming console would be as powerful as other current-gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft. Others say it would be as powerful as the Xbox One X or PlayStation 4 Pro. One thing that everyone can agree on is that games released on it would be on par with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox versions visually!

Nintendo Switch is a successful console. Though many fans credit its success to the first-party games that were released on it. It had titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, and Super Mario Odyssey. And let’s not forget the Pokemon titles that made this console the success that it is. Many third-party developers came out to support it too. From Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Rebel collection to Bethesda’s Skyrim, Switch owners got their hands on several exciting titles.
Tom Henderson, owner of Insider Gaming, claims that this third-party support would increase tenfold for the Switch 2. He said in a recent tweet, “Really excited for the Nintendo Switch 2 and its tech. We’ll see “Launching on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC” a heck of a lot in 12–18 months.”

This means that fans would see much larger third-party games coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, maybe in far better form. Usually, the Nintendo Switch gets watered-down versions of big third-party games. It looks like that’s about to change now.

The console is said to be very powerful indeed, if not as powerful as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox One S. However, it reportedly supports reconstruction technologies such as DLSS 3.0 and FSR 3. This means it can present lower-resolution visuals in higher resolution without any loss in quality.

Developers will have the option to port games to the Nintendo Switch 2 with a lower resolution and easily rely on DLSS 3.0 to make it look and run better. It remains to be seen if all this turns out to be true. It is about time players get to try Red Dead Redemption 2 on the go. And if the console is indeed as powerful as they rumour it to be, the arrival of third party titles will surely be a big boost.
