The Japanese video game giant is a very secretive company, they love keeping stuff close to their hearts. Playing their cards like this helps them keep that element of surprise. Everyone remembers what happened when this company decided to shadow-drop Metroid Prime Remastered. It became an instant success, it received praise from both critics and fans.

Nintendo did something very similar when they launched Pikmin 1 and 2 for the Nintendo Switch very recently. Yet again, this announcement came to fans as a pleasant surprise. Many even claimed they would buy this collection over the upcoming fourth installment of this series.

Nintendo even announced the Super Mario RPG Remake in a similar manner. Hence, it did not come as a surprise when industry insider Jeff Grubb mentioned during a podcast that Nintendo is all set to announce the Metroid Prime 2 Remaster very soon.

He did not stop there either; he also mentioned that there’s something Zelda-related coming, and it would be announced alongside Metroid Prime 2. This upcoming title would not have anything to do with Tears of the Kingdom.

This also means that this might finally be the time when fans get Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD ports on the Nintendo Switch. Similar to Metroid Prime remasters, these games have also been talked about by numerous insiders for a long time.
