Chris Pratt is surely a popular actor, and after the launch of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, this star has not looked back. He has surely come a long way from his role in Parks and Recreation. When he was announced for the starring role of Mario in this upcoming movie, people were not happy.
When his voice finally made its debut in the first trailer for this movie, fans were not very convinced. But eventually, they warmed to the idea of having him as the popular plumber, all thanks to every other member of this movie’s cast. It appears Illumination and Nintendo have just hit their goal with every other character in this movie.
Jack Black is Bowser, Charlie Day is Luigi, Keagan-Michael Key is Toad, and Set Rogen is Donkey Kong. It’s nothing short of a dream cast, but how did Chris Pratt land this role? Well, he just made it clear in a recent interview on Movie Show Plus. He was asked if he had ever thought he would be cast as Mario when he grew up. His answer was nothing short of epic.
He said, “There was a wishing well at the Azteca Mexican restaurant in our little hometown, and I used to take a stick and pull the quarters out and go to the laundromat and play Mario Brothers, the arcade version, and you know, I am not proud of it. But I think I took someone’s wish.”

This was quickly debunked by Charlie Day, who said the wishes stay in the well. So that must have cleared the conscience of Chris Pratt.
Now, people might not like Chris Pratt as Mario for now, but he sure has a sense of humor and the spirit to play that character. It would be exciting to see what he brings to the table for this role.
