People took issue with MrBeast’s statement in a tweet that read, “I don’t understand why curable blindness is a thing. Why don’t governments step in and help? Even if you’re thinking purely from a financial standpoint, it’s hard to see how they don’t ROI on taxes from people being able to work again.”
However, Hasan Piker weighed in on the criticism faced by MrBeast and offered a different perspective. Piker stated that he understands why some people, particularly “leftists”, might be upset with MrBeast. However, he disagrees with this viewpoint and believes that MrBeast’s intentions are not to create poverty-prone propaganda.
According to Piker, MrBeast “in his own mind as a fan of capitalism like billions of people” believes that his actions are “an ethical way to both drive clicks but then take all of those clicks back and like fund the same problem that he is like talking about to be as charitable as possible.”
Piker further added that when people criticize MrBeast for pointing out the structural issues with curable blindness, they are turning the situation into a moment for propaganda that is “pro-capital” and ignoring the larger “structural problems” at play. He emphasized that it is important to look at the broader picture and understand that MrBeast’s actions are part of a larger movement to make the world a better place.

What’s more happening?
As this happened, Hasan Piker was constantly questioned by fans on why he is “mad,” at MrBeast. To this, he responded, “I’m not mad at MrBeast. I’m mad at the system.” He even tweeted, “I have no issue w mr beast no matter how hard these neck bearded losers try and present it that way. I have an issue with an immoral system that paywalls healthcare. if you weren’t too desperate to claw a crumb of relevancy w a disingenuous “hit tweet” you’d perhaps see that.”
Another tweet by MrBeast uploaded recently explained that no matter what he does, there will be a group that will object to either of his choices. His tweet read, “Twitter – Rich people should help others with their money Me – Okay, I’ll use my money to help people and I promise to give away all my money before I die. Every single penny. Twitter – MrBeast bad.”
