“I’m Just Sort of Like Hearing You Say That…”- Skyrim Creator Choked With Emotion After His Game Was Called ‘Greatest of All Time’

What is the greatest game of all time? It is a question that has multiple answers because it differs for each person. But when a fan calls a video game great, it could mean everything to the brilliant minds who worked on creating that masterpiece. The heart-warming reaction from the game designer of Skyrim is a great example.

If someone hasn’t heard about Todd Howard, then that person is still far from being called a gamer. After all, Howard is the director and executive producer at Bethesda Games. Further, he’s the central figure behind the creation of the fantastic video game series, Fallout and The Elder Scroll.

Todd Howard gets emotional when Skyrim is called the greatest game

The Skyrim creator recently did a podcast with the Russian-American YouTuber and computer scientist Lex Fridman. On the podcast, the latter discussed creating video games with the game designer and also the masterpieces he created. But the most wholesome moment was when Howard got a little emotional in the podcast.

Throughout the session, Fridman claimed Skyrim and Fallout have to be among the most renowned games he has played. He then questioned Howard about the greatest video game of all time besides his creations. But the Skyrim creator was choked on his emotion as he was glad to hear Fridman calling Skyrim a great video game.

Howard got emotional and thanked the YouTuber for appreciating his hard work. He said, “I’m just sort of like hearing you say that you think Skyrim’s the best game of all time. [It] is quite [amazing]. Thank you, but it’s you know an incredible thing to hear.”

Many believe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to be the best open-world game. But they might not be wrong as the Todd Howard shares the same opinion. During his podcast with Lex Fridman, Howard claimed Zelda games “don’t constrain you,” and it’s a feature that even he couldn’t implement in his games.
