The Reality is far from the truth for KSI

Olatunji created a YouTube account in his bedroom under the alias KSI (which stands for knowledge, strength, and integrity). It all started with his passion for gaming.

The community that I loved the most was The Gaming Community. I love posting clips of me playing FIFA and back then it was like FIFA 7 so I’d just be doing skills and adding like Montage Music behind it whether it be like Linkin Park or red or all these other bands,” KSI started off the interview.

He said during the interview that making the documentary “became really therapeutic,” and added, “I didn’t know what to expect from the doc so I think it’s cool that it’s humanized me. To show that I am human and essentially, even with all that’s going on, it’s just me, it’s just how I am.

“With the doc, people have hit me up, you’ve inspired me so much to want to talk to my parents more and want to, you know, really improve my family relationship because, you know, it’s something a lot of people just forget about or, you know, even with an African background have, you know, a bit of trouble having to deal with that. So I think it was cool that you know as a role model like I tried to be the best person I can and you know. I’m a human. I’m going to make mistakes, yeah I am not perfect.

The film depicts a hard relationship with his parents: while they appear in some of his films apparently joyful, smiling, and joking, there were conflicts – particularly with his father behind the scenes.
