The entertainment world is no stranger to some big-banner video game adaptations. From Super Mario Bros. to Five Nights at Freddy’s, projects inspired by the virtual world have worked wonders on the silver screen. But there’s no denying the fact that The Last of Us TV series has been a total standout in recreating the magic. In her latest interview, Bella Ramsey herself confirmed that the countdown to season 2 has begun as production is set to begin in a few months.
“Next year. No, I do actually know. I mean, I temporarily know”, she confirmed. This means the shooting would begin in the first quarter of 2024. Then it would take some months to get to post-production. A rational estimate for the season 2 launch might be anywhere around the last quarter of 2024. For the makers, season 2 would bring its own sets of challenges.
The Last of Us season 2 will bring a stronger version of Ellie?
The story itself holds most of the potential. But the works of Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as Joel and Ellie have only helped widespread the label’s popularity. Now, going by the claims of the Emmy-nominated actor, the upcoming story would bring some innovations to the game’s narrative.

“I’m excited for the really intense stuff, because I did a bit of that in Season 1 obviously, but to do that. And actually more physical scenes because Ellie is obviously more physically fit in Season 2. I love stunt stuff, and like waking up with bruises the next day, and finding myself with a black eye, just because it feels like so good to have done it”, the actor talking about Ellie’s arc stated.
