Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 beta has brought a lot of new innovations to the FPS fanatics. But it seems like the game has failed to counter one major issue running in the franchise for a long while. The sequel to Modern Warfare 2 is already making headlines for the Shadowban system and its adversities faced by innocent players during the beta. Being a problem associated with most of the Call of Duty labels, MW3 beta hasn’t picked up to a promising start either.
The buzz around the shadowban system is currently a hot topic on social media. While account bans can and do occur for good causes, there has never been such a large number of Call of Duty gamers alleging that they are being shadow-banned. The release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is imminent, but it appears that something has gone wrong that will prohibit gamers from accessing or enjoying the new content when it goes online in November.

Spam reports in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 beta resulting in a lot of innocent bans
The complaints of unjustified bans are growing in numbers each day as the beta moves to the third week. This might account for a major skepticism around the final launch.
A stream took to X (formerly twitter) to address the matter. The user wrote, “Absolutely no reason innocent players should have to go weeks at a time without playing because they get spam reported in game by trashcans.”
The more concerning fact is after an unjustified ban, players are only left with one solution. It involves reporting the issue to Activision support and waiting for the developers to act on the complaint ticket. For the time being, the access to the servers is made completely unreachable.
If the shadowban system in Modern Warfare 3 allows innocent players to get banned by others abusing the report system then it’s chalked.

The story of hacking and cheating can be traced way back to the Activision franchise. Over the years, fan complaints about hackers invading the game have only increased. Surprisingly, the beta run in the first week itself was subjected to similar complaints when videos of hackers invading the gameplay surfaced all over the internet. For obvious reasons, the series of events have left the fans quite disappointed.
Fans share their experience with the unfortunate bans
The tweet immediately went viral across the FPS community inviting a lot of other gamers that met with a similar experience.
A user shared their experience as they related to the unfair banning by the servers, having been “in this shadow ban loop for over 10 months,” and further explaining how “it’s ridiculous.”
I’ve been in this shadow ban loop for over 10 months it’s ridiculous… they won’t even announce that it’s a problem like they deadass don’t care unless ur someone huge… smh

“It’s never going away”, a gamer seems to have made their peace with the fact that Activision wouldn’t be countering the controversial issue.
Its just a part of the series now, its never going away.

A fan penned down a detailed note on how the community is actually responsible for the sustained problem and wants the world to be more precise in differentiating between cheaters and good players.
Problem with making the reporting system be automatically done. It gives the power to the people which means it also gives power to the people who don’t the difference between a cheater or a good player which is a problem. Every report should always be investigated and this…

The frustration is evident! A player has made up their mind not to play the game if this happens to them.
Swear to god I’ll refund the game the first time I get shadow banned.
