GTA 6 has shaken the internet so much that fans do not want to hear anything else anymore. They did not even care for it when someone suggested that a DLC for GTA Online was coming in December. They do not like Rockstar Games talking about anything else when GTA 6 should be the priority.
But GTA Online is their priority, and they have a steady community of people who have played this game from the moment it was launched. And so one wonders: what happens to GTA Online when GTA 6 has launched? Would it just be closed down, or does Rockstar Games have a plan?
Rockstar Games may do something very risky yet inventive with GTA 6 and Online

GTA Online might just be one of the most crowded online games these days. This is not a big deal; what is a big deal, though, is that it has been like this since its launch back in 2013. This game acts as a player’s ultimate Grand Theft Auto fantasy come true. Buying houses, cars, boats, playing with friends, hunting, doing heists, doing missions, purchasing businesses—everything is possible in this game. It would not be an overstatement if we say many players have thousands of hours invested in this title, which would mean they would find it hard to move on when it closes down.
The next GTA Online DLC is expected to release on Tuesday, December 12.

But maybe, just maybe, Rockstar Games would do something interesting. Maybe they would introduce a new version of GTA Online with 6. They could even allow gamers to switch to that game, move their saves, their progress, and everything else they have. Or if they do not want to risk someone breaking a game with so much wealth, they can offer players a sum of in-game money for moving on and starting anew in GTA 6 Online. It is a much better proposition than one for such huge fans to just start anew.

If they did this, it would not be a completely original idea, but it would be somewhat exciting. It would show GTA Online players that Rockstar Games understands their dedication to their popular title.
It is not an easy thing to do, though.
While the prospect of just transferring to a new version of GTA Online can be exciting, it might prove a little harder for the developers. If rumors are to be believed, the RAGE engine is a whole new beast, so who knows if the next iteration of GTA Online will even launch with GTA 6? Maybe Rockstar would decide to launch it as a separate game?

And secondly, how unfair would it be to new players if someone just shows up with so much wealth and starts showing off? It is not good for the players or the developers; it kind of ruins the fun of starting over. Let’s hope Rockstar figures it out, though, because if they get this migration right, they will win new gamers and retain old fans.
